Hey guys, I know it's gonna be a tough Christmas season for us here but I want to throw something out and see if you guys are interested.
There is an Adopt A Soldier program
http://adoptaussoldier.org/index.html where we can basically adopt a couple of guys overseas and then send them some stuff. Letters, newspapers, photos of us playing airsoft, PLUS the items listed below. It would be a big morale boost for them during the holidays. Being seperated from your family blows, but knowing there are a bunch of guys over here thinking about ya and pulling for you helps a LOT.
My idea here is to go in and "adopt" one or two of them and once we do, I'll get a list of items like the ones below they need or want. We then simply pick a good spot to drop off the stuff (I am volunteering Nashville Airsoft ) as the drop-off and put it all into some boxes to send to them.
So here is the deal...
No matter what the names are that we get, these guys are gonna share this stuff with their fellow soldiers. Magazines, boooks, and newspapers get spread around like crazy (trust me, I know). Stuff like that is great. Items to eat and all are also shared. You guys think if I adopted a couple, shared their info with us all here, as a Christmas gift to them, we could come together by the 12th of December or so and have our stuff dropped off at NA so we could ship it to them?
Once I get their list of stuff (happens really fast after we adopt them) I'll get it up here, we can all decide what we want to donate to the packages, then get it to NA in time to ship out. If you live out of town or a a ways out, you can donate to the badkarma paypal account. Any money I get will either go towards STUFF or to pay the postage to get it to them.
Sadly, shipping rates DO APPLY and the packages cannot be over 70 pounds.
I'm game to do this if you guys can help out. And honestly, to Adopt A Soldier, we don't have to send them anything but letters, but c'mon, we're better than that... RIGHT?

Our soldiers love any news from the outside world
Boys it's Christmas time and now's the time to step up and take $10 to spend on these guys. It'll mean the world to them.
At the charity game, we collected a lot of canned goods and money for the kids and needy families here in Middle Tn. You guys ALWAYS step up for that, but I'm asking ya once more, in the spirit of Christmas and the guys we honor and emulate with our sport who do it for real... anyone else game?
