Hey, I thought it was a fun game at least. I am a bit disappointed that we were unable to complete the day, but you can only look after so many people's well being in such heat.
As part of one of the Redfor sniper teams, I thought the missions were pretty cool. The first one was surprisingly easy...neither team met any resistance as we eliminated all six targets. Me and Josh had prepared to fight for all three. He did, however, have about 12 bluefor guys walk within 10-15 feet of us before the first mission. That and we did some good hunting near the pond helping defend our team.
As far as the second mission went, haha...I don't even know. We were suppose to retrieve some documents we couldnt find and me and josh were trying to shoot a target that never actually existed, haha.
It sucks that we were only 200 some points shy of Bluefor, but like Jay had been saying the whole time, he wanted to make it as impossible for us to win as he could, and that seems about right. I can't possibly see how any of the missions could of been "designed" for us Spartans to win...like Jeremy said, we would have won big, had that been the case. We did what we do best, take over objectives...the only downfall this game was it took us to long for some of them, or we accidentally killed a POW...haha nice one Mark Ross.
As far as player integrity, you're always going to run into those people who aren't going to call it, thats just how it is. However...the first four times I was shot during the first game were all by people I had already shot. Now with the heat taking it's toll on people and the stress of a milsim event...its somewhat understandable. But...I wont lie people, that game had to have been host to some of the worst cheating Ive seen in my 2+ years of airsofting...and Ive played in a shitload of places with a whole plethora of airsofters. I couldn't believe it at times. I was never one to yell at anyone to call their hits...never. Ive learned its not even worth it one some people. But when I sneak up behind you and shoot 20-30rounds before you can react...then come on. But...part of the sport, I only feel it necessary to tell it like it is.
Oh, and we weren't spawn camping...we couldn't. You were allowed to shoot out of your spawn, we couldnt shoot back unless you left it, which you must have. Nor would we really benefit from that. Usually, like me and a few others, we just came up from behind and got you. Sucks, but it was legit.
Also, the FPS were higher than what many non-Nashville players are use to...that was clear as ice from the beginning. We didn't hide the fact that DMRs were shooting full auto at 550fps. Now I know we did our best to keep that 75ft distance, and same with the SAWs and others who had MEDs. But understand that the rest of the AEGs were good to go, semi only indoors of course. You guys should of known that before hand, because it was clearly stated.
I love the BK field and it was really nice to see Jay use a large majority of it for some missions. Like Chris said, I cant remember neither when I was last touching the SS Minnow. Even the sniper targets were well spread out.
All in all the only gripe I can really have is that we didn't get to finish the game and take back the lead. I understand that it was time to call it because of heat, but remember that Silent Ops, Gun Devils and Spartans were the last to leave the field, many of us still willing to play.

Despite the fact that I was only able to play for like the first twenty minutes of game 1, I still found myself having fun during that time. Remember, it's a game guys, and part of the fun involved is getting things changed up on the fly. Makes it exciting.
Wish I could have played longer, but my injured knee, despite 3 months of rest on it, combined with that heat just took it out of me. Hardly was able to climb the hill to the parking area, but sitting down at respawn and talking with folks on RedFor still made up for not getting to play.
Good game, and I look forward to being in working shape and playing out with you guys again.

I was one of the Medics, but not one of his. That's kind of an insult to me.
I wasn't impressed with the event. Guns to hot. Missions designed so the Spartans would win. Camping at the respawns. 'Nuff said.
I enjoyed meeting everyone on bluefor. I can't wait to play with them again. But not at another event like this.
All I will say is any good medic will tell you recognition is not what they want, its just what you do to help others. Thats what your trained to do, not for fame or glory but for those who need your help. How many medics overseas do you hear about saving lives every single day? How many medics get recognized around locally for saving lives? Do you seriously need to be personally named for recognizing a heat related emergency? Good luck with your career, hope you become a famous medic.

An Excellent Event under difficult circumstances, as a guy who has benn playing Airsoft for a while and has been at every event size from an Irene to a game with 2 5 man teams, there is always going to be a situation where you think your hitting a guy and not or your shooting at a "Terminator" (term for cheaters). My rule of thumb is just pour on the BBS and start aiming for places that hurt. See most players like that I have seen generally cant hit anything anyway. But always remember do not lower yourself to the lowest common denominator, play with honor and those around you will step up.
The mission structure was good and as a Blue force sniper I had a great time especially in the 2nd mission. The event was chaotic and fluid while some missions seemed impossible that does not mean they were, and it forced you to think of your solutions for challenges presented. Excellent !!
Now for the heat, no one could have seen that coming and frankly I'm not sure all the water in the world would have helped, The Gundevils did an outstanding job handling this and shoudl be commended for it, to be honest this had a chance to turn into a major disaster, but quick thinking and good training helped those who had issues. Only one true casualty is a testament to how it was handled Kudos to all involved. Also a huge Kudo to JayC and the red and blue commanders for calling the event before anyone else fell out, it's nice to see common sense prevail even amongst the Gung-Ho attitudes on the field.
I look forward to more events run of this calibur in the future.

Well, I'm going to say a big thank you for all the help the trained medics provided on Saturday. Along with a number of folks who had training in how to deal with heat casualties.... Also, everybody else and I wish I could name everybody but I'm sure in the process I'd forget a ton of folks who were helping take care of those in trouble. We had folks helping them on the field, others helping by bringing supplies down the hill, others helping to drive down and extract them, and still others who walked the entire field to make sure nobody else was still down there hurt. That is one thing I'm proud of about everybody on Saturday when the crap hit the fan, everybody (no matter what their personal feelings) pulled together to take care of those in trouble.
And that is why this is such a great sport

Thanks for putting the game on! I have fun every time I play airsoft even when its 1000 degrees outside.
Blue, you guys did a great job in all the heat and confusion of the fire fights.
Paches,
I just have to let you know. Me and four other guys (not on my team) were standing there when that 1000% thing happend near the chuch outside VC. I personlay have never seen anyone get hit so many times and not call it. Maybe he did not feel it because he had a vest on, but you could here the bbs hitting him and when he dropped in front of the board he started rubbing his arm. The guy shooting him should not have gotten so made, but it was absolutely unbelievable!
Again, he really might not have felt a single hit, but five of us saw this go down.
Anyway it was a fun game and I look forward to the next one...

I just want to say one thing. Airsoft is a game of honor and honesty. With any sport you have people that play by the rules and you have people that dont. In my opinion there is one that is even worse than a cheater, and that is a whiner! I am not afraid to speak out when I see or witness something that I believe is wrong. However! I have sense enough to realise two things! What I think is "wrong" may not be wrong in the eyes of another person, so I try to keep an open mind. Two, no matter what, I try to be respectful, and despite my feelings, treat others with respect. To put it bluntly, I dont act like a child!!
I dont think that there is any one of us that did not see or hear something that they did not agree with. JayC and the rest of the staff did the best they could to put on a fair and fun event. It was up to the rest of us to make the event fun and fair! No matter what happens, good or bad, I had a good time. Did I agree with everything that happened? No, but then again who does? Here is one example.
The whole Spawn Camping thing. Uh guys, I didnt like the fact that my guys were getting waxed every time they left the spawn, BUT, RedFor was obeying the rules set by the staff. Would I have placed 2 saws and a DMR there to harasse the re-spawn area? No, but that doesnt matter. Guys the last time I looked this Sport was Called Milsim! Now I dont know about you, but the last time I read the paper or watched the news, I got the feeling that War is Hell? The enemy isnt going to give you a free road to walk down! If they can do it, they will walk up and slap you in the face! RedFor made a tactical decision that met the rules and worked. I cant fault them for doing it though I would not have done it myself. They did what needed to be done to win, and that is the nature of war. It isnt pretty, and it isnt glamorous. It's about winning. Period.
Deisgned for RedFor to Win? Not in a million years. The Staff knew that the experience level was heavily in RedFors favor. Had the scenarios been reversed RedFor would have easily won. To be honest folks, BlueFor may have won the event by points, but to me it is a shallow victory, because RedFor really gave us a bloody nose out there. Ill take the win guys, but I also take my hat off to RedFor for doing such a good job under tough odds.
I could go on for hours and pages, but I will stop here with this last statement. Agree or not, happy or not I respect everyone I played with and against Saturday. Reguardless of my personal feelings about the events of the day, I am not going to drag it all out here and start a spitting match. It does nothing but cast a bad light on the event and our sport. Grow up guys! Save your bad attitiude and foul language for internal discussions. Dont bring it here for the whole world to see. It makes us all look bad!

I can't believe that a couple of you guys would think that the game was rigged for Redfor to win
. I was CO for Redfor and it was extremely difficult most of the time. Communication was the key to the missions. Me and the XO stayed on our radios the entire time and the squad leaders would stay in contact with us. We didn't win but, I felt that we were organized (through communication) despite all of the twist and turns that JayC and Claymore threw at us. I don't know what the missions were for Bluefor but, they had us running from one side of the field to the other. Sorry the game wasn't as great as Irene but, I hope you guys can overlook your anger and come back for some quality airsoft. We need to stick together as a community and help airsoft not destroy it.

I had fun saturday. Thank you jayc, the redmedics for taking care of my boy ash and the other people for putting this game on. there I only one thing I thing may need to be looked at for games like this. everyone should have to chrono to keep people from sneeking in hot guns in events like this. I was shot at ten feet in the leg and it brought blood. it may have been a distance mistake. but a 400fps gun will not bring blood through pants at that range. if it was distance mistake then all I can say is please be careful about your distance. it was fun but I need to get more cqb training before I try that again redfor you played a good game. thank you all for a good time on both sides bluefor and redfor

Freak,
I'm glad Ash is doing well, and I'm going to drop those boots off tomorrow at NA to be picked up. Everybody *should* have chrono'd... The only exceptions were a couple of team guns who had passed under BK limits 2 weekends before and I know for a fact had not been cracked. (BK limits are 385 with .25's well under our riflemen limits).
We did have a couple of incidents where I had to remind folks to watch their MEDs in the first game if it happened during the 2nd please pm me with more details.

Hey guys, we want to thank everyone again for coming out and supporting us! I know the weather was miserable, we tried the best we could to make it all work. And I know there are complaints about being unbalanced, but we tried to run redfor ragged as best we could! I hope that most of you enjoyed it enough to make it worth your while, but I wanted to let all of you know that we managed to raise $580 for BK Field, so hopefully our event can help sponsor some awesome new stuff out there next year. If you guys get the chance make sure you let those guys know you appreciate them, because trust me, they've built an incredible field for us to play on and build our community around!

This is Top, commander of BlueFor.
Thank you JayC for putting on this event. I feel bad that heat prevented us from playing the final mission, but better safe than sorry.
Thank you Tick for giving us a a great battle and extreme challenge. RedFor was a definite force to be reckoned with under your command.
I am very proud of all of BlueFor. You fought hard under difficult circumstances and you kept pushing on. It was an honor to command you all. I'm very happy to have met many of you for the first time.
Everytime I play this game I learn something new and I become a better player from it. I hope everyone can say the same.

EDIT SARCASIM DOESN'T COME ACROSS RIGHT ON THE INTERNT. I'M NOT BEING A GLORY HOUND. I JUST DON'T WANT TO BE EVER GROUPED WITH JAYC

While I respect your medical training, you have a serious chip on your shoulder. Fireman and I are both trained in all aspects of medical care. We do not need recognition for our work. We do it because we love to help people, nothing else matters.
I do not see the need to attack JayC. They put on a very good event and I had a good time. If you do not like real milsim events then go play elsewhere.
And, what proof do you have that the guns were too hot? Just because it stings more does not mean it's a hot gun. Everyone crono'd before the event. To assume that the Gundevils would have given exception to someone is without basis.
