Ok... AAR...

First I'd like to thank all the players who came out to the event.  I'm sorry we had to stop after only 2 of the 3 planned missions, but both RedFor and BlueFor Commanders were in agreement that the heat was just too much and moving ahead with the third mission would have resulted in even more heat casualties.

I'd also like to thank AFA, Spartans, Gun Devils, Silent Ops, Myrmidons, and the other teams who attended for coming to the event.  I'd like to thank Tick, Top, Zippo, Gunny, Higgs (Kane), Derrick, Doorman and I'm sure a whole host of other folks who helped run each of the two sides...  without those folks offering to run squads and lead sides we couldn't put on such organized events.  I'd also want to give big props to the other folks who helped staff the event, Claymore, Gman, and Bulvye which of course we would never have gotten the event off the ground without them..  And a special thanks to Houston for talking me into running another event.

I'd also like to thank Bad Karma and Thundergod for the use of their great field.  It's just about the best free airsoft field in the entire world, and I think everybody can agree they've done a great job out there.  As part of the event, we will be donating over $500 (I'll post an exact amount tomorrow once I double check the check-in logs) to BK so they can maintain and build new things for the field.

I've spoken with all the folks who we treated for heat... and everybody will be fine, including the young man who was taken to the hospital.  I spoke with Ash this morning and he's already recovered and was talking about playing again next weekend Smiley  I'd like to say a special thanks for Fireman, Deathmonkey, Redneckemt, and everybody else who helped out when we started to take serious heat casualties on the field, having expert care on the field made a big difference on Saturday.

I'll also say the heat took it's toll in other ways as well..  We did have a number of unsportsman complaints against players on both sides, and I'm fairly certain that heat was playing a part in a good number of those.  I and the other staff took care of those issues as they were brought to our attention, and I've spoken with some of the team leaders after the event and brought major issues to their attention so they could be addressed where the staff wasn't around when the issue took place.  My hope is that we can all learn from those experiences and grow.  You're going to have problems with people calling their hits from time to time... when you mix in heat and a tough MilSim set of missions tempers tend to flare.  We did have a few safety issues with firing full auto indoors in the first mission but i think that was mostly corrected by mission 2.

If you experienced some issue with the event and haven't already spoken to me or another staff members about it, please do, it's the only way we can learn and make any future events better.

The other thing I'd like to mention...  We made the missions hard and confusing for a reason.  This was a MilSim event, not a regular game day.  One of the first things you need to over come as you move into larger more complicated events is dealing with changes on the fly.  If you didn't know what was going on all the time, or exactly what the current objective was, that was by design.  One of the big challenges of this event was for the Commanders to keep in communication with their squads and push new mission orders down to them.  It's being able to stay organized and fight as a team that makes the difference in those situations.  I know this was a first MilSim event for most of the players out there, and I want everybody to know they did a great job.

Both the teams did very well, I'm not sure who would have won if we had ran the 3rd mission, as you can see from the scores post it was pretty close.  I hope it was an overall good experience for those who attended...  It's probably going to be awhile before I start to run another one of these events, they take a lot of time and planning... but hopefully when I do everybody will be willing to return.

I had a blast today, everything was well planned and executed.

Jay, my only complaint is try to get the AC turned on at the field before we play next time. Too dang hot! Grin

Today really showed why I love this Sport, yes tempers can get flared and so on but when the "game" is over everyone is looking out for each other, and it showed today with several people walking the field to make sure everyone was accounted for. Everyone making sure others were drink plenty of water.

Jay I just want to thank you for a great day, take the heat issues out of the equation and I would rank it up against any day of Airsoft i have played THANK YOU! i know you put a lot of time and thought in to the day, and I hate that we did not get to finish everything you had planned out, Maybe a continuation? I had a blast!

I really liked how the missions were laid out, and how we never knew what to expect. I also really liked the way the field was used, I can't remember the last time I was even near the Minnow.

When can we do it again?

I had a great time despite the heat. I always enjoy having the chance to play against guys like the Spartans and the GunDevils. Playing against such experienced teams really gives our team alot of points to work on and gain more experience from. I feel that we improve more an more evey time we play there!  Despite some confusion in game two, and issures with the heat, I think everyone enjoyed themselves. I could care less who wins or loses, as long as I can make and meet new friends, play with honor, and have a good time!

Thanks to JayC and the rest of the people who ran the event. We look forward to the next one!

Although I was unable to play the second game, I had a great time. This was my first large event, and I look forward to doing it again. You guys did a great job putting this together, and also helping the people that became victims of the heat!

DELETED DUE TO PEOPLE MISUNDERSTANDING. Can't take a freaking joke.

I wasn't impressed with the event. Guns to hot. Missions designed so the Spartans would win. Camping at the respawns. 'Nuff said.

I enjoyed meeting everyone on bluefor. I can't wait to play with them again. But not at another event like this.

I give this game a C+

I loved the field and my team, other then that I did not care for it.

No one on bluefor knew what we were suppose to do, at all. In the first game most of us found out the objective when there was 30 min left in the game. Second game, more of the same.

I really liked the level of integrity from some of the redfor players. Like that one guy yelling at my squad leader "your out I hit you 1000%, can you comprehend that number its way bigger then 100%." I thought airsoft was a game of honor, not trying to see how big of an ass you are, or whine when you miss your target.

Yerp, Loved the field and my team, but not a big fan of the game. Alot of the bluefor I talked to (20 some guys) said they would have to think hard about coming back.

In closing it was an OK game.....

I was one of the Medics, but not one of his. That's kind of an insult to me.

Hey man when he was tlaking about the medics I think he was talking about everyone that helped with the heat casualties, are you so fucking full of yourself that you have to be named specifically?

And sorry that you can't play with Non-CQB fps, we're not pussies

Also how the fuck were the missions designed for spartan??? Our side lost! If they were designed for Spartans I think they might have won, also the Spartans are just a good team sorry if you suck to much to keep up.

There is no way you can count us trying to push on that side of the base and call it spawn camping. Refs even checked and ya'll were well outa the spawn (150-200ft actually) before you started taking fire.

Sorry but I guess Mil/Sim isn't for you why don't you go play some Paintballsoft and run around with your friends in your backyard

I give this game a C+

For one the first mission was posted over a week ago, that kinda just says you're a little lazy

And hey the guys that had anger problems were delt with during and after the game. It's kinda ironic that you're complain about people complaining.

And get those other bluefor team members to get on here and post what was wrong with it so things can get fixed and a better game can get hosted next time

Awesome game!

I find it funny that the only people I heard complaining at the game were from the same area.  Must be the water or something... lol

I enjoyed it and look forward to next year.

Thanks to Jay, Nashville airsoft, and other minions for setting up and hosting an amazing event!

It was good to run with teams the Gundevils and Spartans!  Both are extremely good teams.
